Ueno People's MuseumResearch Exchange study at SIT, Japan
Advisor: Ataka Kentaro January, 2019 Keeping the circulation flow as well as the nature in the site. Proposing the new courtyard in the place of the existing berm for people to make the most use out of this area in the nature.
The main idea behind this project is to have the design to serve as a gate of both the adjacent Tokyo Metropolitian Museum and the Ueno Park itself. By breaking down existing program of exisiting museums in the park, this proposal redefine the concept and perception people have toward the museum itself as well as being the space for both people who come to enjoy art and/or nature. The design is intended to blend in with the nature as well as jumping out and attracting new group of people to the local museum network. Programs are assigned to each of the floating pavillion for people to enjoy arts as well as to give chances for non-professional artists and designers to express and showcase their works. Often time, non-professional are forgetten and it is for us to persue as part of our life-long learning experience. |
